Is The Dogtra 2500 T&B Trainer & Beeper The Right Trainer For You?
The Dogtra 2500 T&B series has won lots of acclaim and been hailed as the world’s finest e-collar. It’s an ultra-lightweight, compact training and beeper unit designed for the serious upland hunter. Unlike the other beeper units, which have the horn located right on the top of the dog’s head. Dogtra has the beeper horn straight into the receiver. It helps you to easily keep a track of your dog’s location when he’s out of sight or on point. Behaviour management is an alternative use for the remote collar. Being 100% waterproof means both the transmitter and the collar are totally dependable, suitable even in the most rough of weather, whether it be raining buckets or in heavy snow. The transmitter for 2500 T&B series has a number of different buttons; here is a description about each:
Nick: Gives out a single pulse of electric stimulation and lasts only momentarily
Constant: Allows continuous electrical stimulation for a maximum of 12 seconds. You can apply it for less than 12 seconds by releasing the button when you want. After twelve seconds it will however turn off automatically.
Locate: As the name suggests, this feature keeps a tag on where your dog is located. It’s located on the left of the transmitter and when pressed, leads the beeper horn to emit a series of beeps. It can be adjusted between high and low tones.
Mode: Dogtra 2500 T&B series has three different modes, ‘locate’, ‘run/point’, ’point only’. Locate mode will trigger just by depressing the locate button, even if you have chosen any other setting through the ‘mode’ button it can still be used. Pressing this button once sets the ‘run/point’ mode. The beeper will then sound every 7 seconds when the dog is running and every 2 seconds when he’s in a stationary mode. Pushing the button again places the beeper in ‘point only’ mode. Now the beeper sounds every 2 seconds only when the dog is stationary, and remains silent if he’s running. Pushing it 3 times will turn off the beeper unit. The range of the beeper is 400 yards.
Fautless in performance, the Dogtra 2500 T&B series makes claims that it lives up to. It comes with a Lithium-Polymer battery which has an excellent battery life and has a very quick two-hour charge time, it also comes with a lanyard and belt clip.
The levels of electrical stimulation vary from 0 to 127 for the nick and the constant. The LED screen on the transmitter displays the strength of the selected stimulation level and the level of the battery’s charge.
